5 m Wide PVC Banner Material Rolls

A nominal 5m roll is 5,000mm wide, approximately 196.85 inches and commonly called a 197-inch roll. Order by width in millimetres, grade and roll length.

- Frontlit banner: graphics viewed in daylight or lit from the front.
- Backlit banner: illumination behind the image. Approve colour with a printed sample.
- Blockout banner: limits light show-through. Confirm double-sided printability by grade.
- Mesh banner: openings allow airflow. Assess fixing and wind loads for the installation.
Grey backing alone does not establish a double-sided blockout construction.

A 5.1m roll is 100mm wider than a 5m roll. The grades above list 5m; a 5.1m requirement needs separate confirmation for the selected material. These four widths answer different questions:
- 1. Nominal roll width
- The supplier's stated material width. Confirm the actual width, tolerance and usable edges.
- 2. Maximum media width
- The physical width your printer can accept through its configured feed path.
- 3. Maximum image width
- The image width the printer can produce under the selected operating conditions.
- 4. Finished banner width
- The size after trimming, hems, pockets and joining. Agree this with the finishing team.
Check the printer, ink and roll handling
The product pages list solvent, eco-solvent, UV and latex ink routes. Check your machine and settings with the selected grade, including thickness, core size, roll diameter, loading weight and unwind/rewind equipment.
A useful manufacturer example
Fujifilm lists 5.13m maximum media width and 5.00m maximum image width for the Acuity Ultra R2 5000 series. Check these limits separately. This equipment example does not establish tested UNISIGN compatibility. Fujifilm's official specifications.
Test feeding, flatness, ink adhesion, drying or curing, and appearance with production settings before approving a batch.
Will the finished graphic fit in one piece?
For a 4,800mm finished width, a nominal 5,000mm roll leaves a 200mm difference. That is the total nominal gap, not an approved hem or print-margin allowance.
The cut width must fit the usable material. Separately, the image plus bleed must fit the validated printable width. Account for edges, trimming, hems and pockets before confirming a single panel.
For a 6m-wide face divided into two equal panels, each contributes 3m to the finished face. Add the agreed overlap and outer finishing allowances to the panel layout. Trial the chosen welding method and check the seam before production; do not assume one overlap or heat setting suits every grade.

Questions before ordering 5m banner material
Is 5m the same as a 197-inch banner roll?
Approximately. Five metres equals 196.85 inches; exactly 197 inches equals 5,003.8mm. Specify the required millimetre width and tolerance on the order.
Can I order these grades at 5.1m?
The linked specifications list 5m. Send a separate 5,100mm requirement so the available width of your selected grade can be checked.
Does a 5m printer accept every 5m banner roll?
Check the exact model and configuration. Width, thickness, core, diameter, roll weight, ink and feed settings all affect the choice.
Does a 5m roll guarantee a seamless 5m banner?
The final size also depends on usable edges, image width and finishing allowances. Approve the panel layout before printing.
Are flame-test reports available for my project?
Request the report for the exact grade and required standard. Confirm its scope and tested construction against your project's requirements.
What is the minimum order quantity?
