Coated fabrics are produced by covering a polyester scrim with a layer of plastisol, sometimes using some sort of adhesive to enhance adhesion. Once the PVC layer is cured, the fabric becomes waterproof and extremely resistant to dirt, chemicals, UV rays, and general abrasion.
PVC Coated Fabric is 100% polyester with a smooth PVC coating on the back and a subtle texture on the front. It can be used for items such as interior lightboxes and protective covers. This polyester is waterproof and won’t scuff, rip or tear, making it durable and suitable for all types of applications.

Those two coated polyester tent fabric is a special waterproof polyester textile with acrylic coating. Woven fabric provides super-strong tensile and tears strength. Tent fabric can be compatible with Eco-solvent, UV, Latex, or dye-sublimation inks.
Dry cleaning PVC polyester is generally recommended but can be cleaned with cold or lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Do not machine wash PVC polyester-coated fabric. Use a spray bottle or a non-abrasive implement such as a sponge or cloth to apply the cleaning solution. If this is not enough to clean the fabric, you can lightly clean it with a soft bristle brush. Let the cleaning solution sit on the fabric for a few minutes, then dry with a dry cloth or sponge. Avoid strong cleaning solvents such as acetone, ether, gasoline, kerosene, and benzene. Strong oxidizing agents and strongly acidic products should also be avoided.
Make sure the fabric is completely dry before storing. Try to keep it in a dry place where the temperature is between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius. Colder temperatures can stiffen the material, causing it to wrinkle and possibly break. Higher temperatures can make the material sticky and can cause the coating to peel off. Rolling is better than folding and bending when in storage. Indoor or weatherproof outdoor areas are recommended.
This fabric should not be ironed as the heat will cause the coating to melt. Instead, try pressing the seams with your fingers. Using a Teflon foot may help avoid fabric sticking. You can also use matte tape on the bottom of the regular presser foot. The polyethylene coating prevents the fabric from fraying so you don’t have to trim the edges.
