Roll Width, Print Width and Finished Width
A 3.2 m machine name does not confirm that every 3.2 m roll or finished graphic will fit. Use three separate measurements:
1. Roll width
The full width of the material. Order in millimetres and confirm the width tolerance and loading clearance.
2. Usable print width
The area the printer can image in the selected setup. Side margins and edge holders may reduce it.
3. Finished width
The final size after trimming, hems, pockets or joins. Include these allowances in the artwork layout.
Size conversion: 3.2 m = 3,200 mm = 125.98 in. Treat “126 inch” as a rounded label; put the required millimetre size and tolerance on the order.

| CDM2525/510 | Coated blockout | 510 | 1–3.2 m; 5 m | 50 m | Two printable sides |
| CDM11/800 | Coated blockout | 800 | 1–3.2 m; 5 m | 50 m | Two printable sides |
| M1212NP | Coated mesh with liner | 360* | 1–3.2 m; 5 m | 50 m | Open mesh face |
* M1212NP is listed at 360 GSM with liner; a version without liner is listed as an option. Confirm whether the quoted GSM includes the liner and ask for the loaded roll weight. Core inside diameter, outer roll diameter and measured roll weight need confirmation for each order.
Choose the Material by the Job
| Your job | Start with | Check on a sample |
|---|---|---|
| Graphic lit from the front | Frontlit banner | Gloss or matte face, backing, opacity and finishing |
| Lightbox or display lit from behind | Backlit banner | Light diffusion, colour and ink density when lit |
| Two printed faces or an opaque display | Blockout banner | Both print faces, opacity, handling and roll weight |
| Graphic that needs an open mesh face | Mesh banner | Liner or ink collection, image detail and fixing design |
For outdoor jobs, approve the fixing and installation design for the site. Roll width and GSM alone do not define wind performance.

How Much Does a 3.2 m Roll Weigh?
A 3.2 m × 50 m roll contains 160 m² of material. GSM changes the weight, even when the roll width and length stay the same.
| Nominal GSM | 3.2 m × 50 m material only | Example model |
|---|---|---|
| 280 | 44.8 kg | LFG55G/280 |
| 440 | 70.4 kg | CFM11/440 or LBG35/440 |
| 510 | 81.6 kg | CDM2525/510 |
| 800 | 128.0 kg | CDM11/800 |
For loading: use the actual loaded roll weight, including the liner where fitted and the core. For shipping: add wrapping, carton or pallet. The table is a calculation from nominal GSM, not a measured full-roll weight. Check feed and take-up limits separately.
Estimate Material Weight
Width is fixed at 3.2 m. Enter the planned length and nominal GSM.
3.2 × length (m) × GSM ÷ 1,000 = material weight (kg).
Check These 6 Printer Limits
- Media width: maximum and minimum loaded width; allowed width tolerance.
- Print width: usable image area with the planned margins and edge holders.
- Feed and take-up: separate weight limits, roll direction and handling method.
- Core and roll size: core inside diameter, core width and maximum outer diameter.
- Thickness and ink: media path, ink type, profile, heat or UV curing settings.
- Mesh setup: liner requirements or the correct ink-collection system.
Equipment example: Mimaki lists a maximum media width of 3,250 mm and a maximum print width of 3,200 mm for the UJV55-320. These are different limits. Check the manual for your exact printer and loading mode.

Plan Seams, Hems and the Final Size
- Start with the final sizeRecord finished width, height and the fixing method.
- Add finishing spaceInclude trim, hem, pocket and join allowances in the layout.
- Check the usable widthCompare the full layout with the actual print area and roll width.
- Approve a finished sampleCheck the planned weld, stitching, tape or other finishing method.
One-piece graphics
A 3.2 m nominal roll can support a one-piece layout when the artwork and finishing fit within the usable width. Check both axes if you rotate the artwork.
Joined panels
When the layout is wider, plan panel joins or another suitable roll width. Confirm overlap, join position, print alignment and the finishing method for the exact material.
Ask about any factory joins within the roll as well as joins in the finished banner. “3.2 m wide” alone does not promise a splice-free roll.
For outdoor billboard jobs, review billboard roll selection and seam planning before choosing your roll width.
3.2 m Banner Roll FAQs
Is 3.2 m the same as 126 inches?
3.2 m is 3,200 mm, or about 125.98 inches. 126 inches is a common rounded label. Specify the required width in millimetres, plus tolerance, on the order.
Will any 3.2 m roll fit my 3.2 m printer?
Check more than the machine name. Compare maximum media width, usable print width, roll weight, core size, outer diameter, thickness, ink and take-up limits for the exact printer and loading mode.
Which 3.2 m PVC banner types does UNISIGN list?
The models on this page cover frontlit, backlit, blockout and mesh. Each model has a listed width range that includes 3.2 m. Use the model links and ask for the current 3.2 m roll specification and quotation.
How heavy is a 3.2 m × 50 m banner roll?
The roll area is 160 m². Nominal material weight is 44.8 kg at 280 GSM, 70.4 kg at 440 GSM, 81.6 kg at 510 GSM and 128 kg at 800 GSM. These are calculated material-only values. Add the core for loading and include packing for shipping; confirm liner weight where used.
Can I make a 3.2 m finished banner without a seam?
Only if the required artwork and finishing allowances fit within the usable print and material widths. Printer margins, trimming, hems and pockets can reduce the final usable size. Check the job layout before ordering.
What roll length and core should I order?
The six model listings show a standard 50 m length. Choose the order length after checking loaded weight, roll diameter and take-up capacity. Ask UNISIGN to confirm core inside diameter, core width, actual roll weight and packing for the selected model.
Which print inks can I use?
These six model pages list solvent, eco-solvent, UV and Latex inks. Request a sample for your exact printer and ink. Approve the RIP preset, heat or curing settings, ink adhesion, feed and take-up before a full run. Mesh also needs the correct liner or ink-collection setup.
