PVC Banner Material Selector FAQs
What is the difference between frontlit and backlit banner material?
Frontlit media is viewed with light on the printed face. Backlit media is translucent and is viewed with a light source behind the graphic. Test color density and light uniformity on the real lightbox.
When should I choose blockout banner?
Choose blockout when light or a graphic behind the banner must not show through. A double-side printable model is needed when two different graphics will be printed on opposite faces.
Does mesh banner make an outdoor installation safe?
No. Mesh allows airflow and can reduce pressure compared with a closed banner. It does not replace structural design, local rules or installer approval.
Is coated banner always better than laminated banner?
No. The right choice depends on surface, strength, budget, printer, finishing and application. Compare samples under the same print and finishing process.
Does a category statement about B1 cover every model?
Do not assume that. Ask for a current report that names the ordered model, test standard, issuing laboratory and valid scope.
Can a 5m listed roll produce a full 5m printed image?
Not automatically. Printer margins, edge condition, tension and finishing reduce usable width. Confirm the quoted roll width and the printer’s real printable width.
