PVC Banner Materials for Exhibitions and Indoor Displays
Choose the display hardware first. Then select the surface, opacity, fire document and finishing. This page gives direct rules for hanging banners, two-sided signs, roll-up stands and fabric frames.
Which Exhibition Banner Material Should You Use?
- One visible face, wall or hanging banner: use matte frontlit PVC.
- Two visible faces or strong light behind the graphic: use blockout PVC.
- Retractable cassette: use non-curl PET roll-up media. Standard PVC banner is not the roll-up default.
- SEG or tension frame: use stretch or display polyester fabric. PVC does not fit the frame channel.
- Venue fire rule: order only after the report matches the exact material, test standard and printed state.

How is it held?

Where is the light?
Front light needs an opaque print face. Light behind the graphic needs blockout or a tested backlit construction.

Fire Documents: Use the Exact Report, Not a Family Claim
Exhibition halls set their own submission rules. The buyer needs the written venue requirement before selecting a roll. A valid approval file connects all of these fields:

What is the best PVC banner material for an indoor exhibition?
Use matte frontlit PVC for a one-face hanging or wall graphic. Use double-side blockout PVC for an aisle sign viewed from both directions.
Is matte or glossy PVC better under exhibition lights?
Matte PVC is the default. It produces fewer reflected highlights under spotlights and camera lights. Glossy PVC belongs in a controlled-light display.
When does an exhibition banner need blockout material?
Use blockout material for two different printed faces, bright light behind the banner, or a background that must not show through.
Is standard PVC banner correct for a roll-up stand?
No. Use media built for the cassette. Non-curl PET keeps a flatter edge during repeated extension and retraction.
When is display fabric better than PVC?
Use display fabric for SEG frames, tension walls, photo backdrops and lightweight repeat transport. Use PVC for eyelet banners, pole pockets, wipe-clean surfaces and durable hanging signs.
Does a B1 claim cover every PVC banner roll?
No. Approval requires a current report tied to the exact SKU, construction, test method and printed state.
What finishing information must be supplied before cutting?
Supply the finished size, attachment method, eyelet spacing or pocket diameter, safe zones and hardware drawing.
What sample test should be completed before a production order?
Print the production artwork and ink on the selected roll. Test reflection, opacity, edge curl, finished size, hardware fit and the required fire-document set.
