Printable roll material for event table covers

Polyester Tablecloth Fabric for Dye Sublimation Printing

Sublimation tablecloth fabric is white polyester roll material made for full-color printed table covers. Choose the construction by the cover shape: a stable woven fabric for a standard drape, or controlled stretch for a tight fitted cover.

Compare GSM, width, print route, drape, opacity, wrinkle recovery and wash testing before bulk production.

Quick Answer: Which Fabric Should You Choose?

  • Standard drape or throw: start with DSP05A 300D Oxford. It is woven, strong, stable and made for table cloths and trade-show booths.
  • Fitted cover with a box shape: test DSP05A for crisp sewn corners or DSP06 when slight stretch and more opacity are useful.
  • Tight stretch cover: test a two-direction stretch fabric such as DSP08-T with the real pattern, leg pockets, zipper and artwork.

The best choice is the sample that prints cleanly, fits the finished table and returns to shape after folding and use.

Standard Drape vs Fitted vs Stretch Table Covers

Cover StyleHow It FitsFabric Starting PointBest ForApprove First
Standard drape / throwHangs freely over the top and sidesStable woven polyester; DSP05AFast setup, flexible table sizes and classic foldsDrape, corner shape, crease recovery and floor clearance
Fitted / box coverSewn to the table’s top, length, depth and heightStable woven or slight-stretch polyester; DSP05A or DSP06 testClean square shape and hidden storagePattern size, seam position and open/closed back
Stretch fitPulls tight around the top, legs or frameTwo-direction stretch polyester; DSP08-T test candidateModern tension shape and reduced loose foldsStretch recovery, image distortion, zipper and leg pockets
Simple buying rule: choose the finished shape first. A fabric can print bright color and still be the wrong construction for the sewing pattern.

6 Performance Checks for Printed Table Covers

1. Drape

Place a full-width printed sample over the real table. Check the front fall, side folds and bottom clearance.

2. Wrinkle Recovery

Fold the finished sample for transport, open it after the planned storage time and record the crease recovery.

3. Opacity

View the cover over a dark table and stored items. DSP06 is a useful starting point when more opacity is needed.

4. Color

Print logos, solid brand colors, deep black, skin tones and small text. Approve color after heat fixation.

5. Size Stability

Measure length and width before printing, after heat and after the agreed wash test. Keep both percentages.

6. Sewing

Test hems, corners, seams, zippers and leg pockets. Pull the finished cover on and off several times.

Direct vs Transfer Sublimation for Tablecloth Fabric

DSP05A and DSP06 currently list both direct and paper-transfer dye sublimation. Choose the route that works with your printer, ink, heat equipment and quality target.

Common Trade Show Table Sizes and Cover Layouts

Many finished-cover sellers use 4 ft, 6 ft and 8 ft tables. Measure the real table before cutting because depth and height can change.

Common TableTop LengthCommon DepthCommon HeightTypical Use
4 ft48in / 1,219mm24–30in / 610–762mm29–30in / 737–762mmSmall booth or product demo
6 ft72in / 1,829mm30in / 762mm29–30in / 737–762mmCommon trade-show and registration table
8 ft96in / 2,438mm30in / 762mm29–30in / 737–762mmWide display, buffet or event table

3-sided / open back

  • Front and both ends are covered
  • Back stays open for chair access
  • Uses less fabric
  • Useful for staffed booths

4-sided / closed back

  • All four sides are covered
  • Hides boxes and stored items
  • More complete view from every side
  • Useful in open event spaces
Simple standard-throw estimate
Cut length ≈ table length + front drop + back drop + hem allowance
Cut width ≈ table depth + left drop + right drop + hem allowance

6 ft example before hems:
72in + 29in + 29in = 130in long
30in + 29in + 29in = 88in wide

A finished size near 90 × 132in is common for a four-sided 6 ft throw. Add the actual hem and production allowance used by your sewing team.

A 3.2m / 126in roll can support many common table-cover layouts. Check artwork direction, nesting, hems, shrinkage and waste before confirming the usable yield.

Is the Fabric Good for Frequent Folding, Transport and Washing?

Polyester is widely used for reusable event table covers because it is light, printable and practical to pack. Approve the exact printed and sewn sample with this 7-point check:

  1. Print and heat-fix the planned artwork.
  2. Sew the real hem, corner, zipper or leg pocket.
  3. Fold it in the same way used for shipping.
  4. Store it for the planned time, then install it on the table.
  5. Record visible creases and the time needed to relax them.
  6. Wash one sample with the agreed care method and dry it as instructed.
  7. Check size, color, seams and fit again.
Practical care starting point: many commercial finished polyester covers use a cold gentle wash, mild detergent and air or low-temperature drying. Confirm the exact ink, heat, fabric, sewing and FR version before printing care labels.

For repeat event use

  • Pack clean and fully dry
  • Use a wide, loose fold or roll when space allows
  • Keep sharp hardware away from the printed face
  • Store the zipper and leg pockets without hard bends
  • Use the approved care label for every repeat order

Frequently Asked Questions

What is sublimation tablecloth fabric?

It is polyester roll material selected for dye-sublimation printing and sewing into branded table throws, fitted covers, stretch covers and runners.

Which polyester fabric is best for a standard table throw?

Start with a stable woven polyester that has good drape and strength. DSP05A is a 150gsm or 175gsm 300D Oxford made for table cloths and trade-show booths.

What is the difference between a standard drape and a stretch fit?

A standard drape hangs freely over the table. A stretch fit pulls tight around the table or legs. The stretch version needs controlled stretch, recovery and a pattern made for the exact table.

Can DSP05A be printed by direct and transfer sublimation?

Yes. The current DSP05A product page lists both direct and paper-transfer dye sublimation.

Which GSM should I choose for a table cover?

Start with 150gsm or 175gsm DSP05A for a woven standard throw, 230gsm DSP06 for more body, slight stretch and opacity, or test a 250gsm power-stretch construction for a tight fitted shape.

What roll width is available?

DSP05A, DSP06 and DSP08-T list a maximum width of 3.2m / 126in and a standard roll length of 100m / 110yd. Ask for the current available width before planning yield.

What sizes are common for trade-show table covers?

4 ft, 6 ft and 8 ft rectangular tables are common. Depth and height vary, so send the actual length, depth and height plus the required 3-sided or 4-sided coverage.

Can polyester tablecloth fabric be folded and washed?

Polyester covers are often made for repeat event use. Approve the exact printed and sewn sample through a fold, storage and wash test, then use the confirmed care method on the label.

What should I send to request samples and a quote?

Send the table size, cover style, printer, ink, direct or transfer process, target GSM, roll width, quantity, FR standard and destination.
